Product Overview
HackerTube brings YouTube videos discussed on Hacker News into a browsable library. Initiated by Karpathy, it serves developers and curious learners looking for talks, lectures, interviews and documentaries.
Explore the Library
- Search by meaning rather than title keywords alone.
- Navigate 150 topics in 16 areas, playlists and a dedicated long-video view.
- Read Claude-written summaries and explanations of why HN readers value a video.
- Inspect original HN comments and follow links back to their discussion threads.
- Use Likes, Watch later and History; likes help shape the Home feed.
A Viewing Session
Start with a topic search or a category. Open a video card, read its summary and HN context, then play the YouTube embed or visit YouTube. Save a video for later or like it to influence future Home recommendations.
Audience and Access
Useful for developers exploring software talks and learners discovering science lectures or documentaries. The site runs in a browser without accounts and advertises no paid plan. Likes, history and saved videos remain in that browser. Playback uses YouTube's privacy-enhanced embed.
