Product Summary
Songspot turns musical memory into a repeatable browser challenge. Instead of waiting for a daily puzzle, a player can start a run, hear a very short cue, and decide how quickly a song becomes recognizable. The game is free and works on desktop and mobile.
Set Up a Run
Before guessing, players can choose an era and one of five difficulty tiers. The game exposes five reveal points—0.1, 0.5, 2, 8, and 15 seconds—and the control panel can make a run gentler or stricter by enabling or disabling stages. Playback mode, guess-after timing, volume, search behavior, layout, and style are also available as run settings.
The Guessing Loop
- Press play to hear the current cue.
- Type a song title and select a suggestion from the search results.
- A wrong answer or skip moves the run to the next, longer clip. The scoring idea is simple: recognize the track with as little audio as possible.
The short opening cue can expose a voice, snare, synth patch, or other timbral fingerprint before melody and lyrics become useful. Reroll provides another track when a player wants a fresh attempt.
Challenge Friends
When a round ends, Challenge your friend creates a link for the same song and difficulty. The recipient sees the time to beat before playing, and the result compares the two attempts without naming the song in advance. This makes the game suitable for quick head-to-head sessions shared through a message or chat.
Availability
Songspot is described by its official FAQ as free, with no daily play limit. It runs in a browser on phones and desktop computers; speakers or headphones are required.
